US National Slavery Museum
PEI designed the Museum to fufill its mission of revitalizing and interpreting more completely the human drama and toll of slavery in America. It would have demonstrated the contributions of the descendants of African slaves to the development of the unique American character and educate some, and re-educate others, by presenting slavery in a larger and more balanced economic and political context.
